らくら (Rakura) in Sendai
Sakuraniku (horse meat) sashimi (580 yen)🍴
Fresh horse meat had a beautiful red color and a soft and elastic texture…
I could fully enjoy its umami.
Palate of seven Kyoto-style Obansai* dishes (appetizer)
Each dish was gently flavored so it eased my mind.
*Obansai: traditional style of Japanese cuisine native to Kyoto.
Radish and gyutan simmered with red miso (580 yen)
The broth made from red miso had gentle and sophisticated sweetness.
Gyutan (beef tongues) were thick but tender.
Subtle sourness out of radish stimulated my appetite.
Nagaimokan (squared shaped Japanese yam) with wasabi jell (430 yen)
I enjoyed jell made from gentle fish dashi (broth), the crunch texture of finely-cut yam, and pungent flavor of wasabi (Japanese horseradish). Feel good!
Grilled shinrin (locally-produced) chicken (580 yen)
The chicken skin was crispy and its meat had a soft but very nice texture.
Sweet aftertaste out of the chicken juice and subtle spiciness of sansho pepper (Japanese pepper) made me relaxed.
Rakura-yaki (480 yen)
Rakura-yaki is hot and juicy rolled omelet.
I enjoyed the flavor and dashi of snow crab that spread into my mouth right after I bit it. Feel good!
A bowl of Kyoto-style zoni (430yen)
Zoni soup had a sweet flavor of miso and clear aftertaste.
Subtle wasabi flavor enhanced umami of the soup.
Rice cake in this flavorful zoni had soft and sticky texture.
